Guided Dive with Grey Seals

An all day dive trip including 2 guided dives with the friendly and playful Grey Seals at Lundy Island, this has got to be the UK's most exciting wild animal encounter. Suitable for qualified divers of all experience levels. Itinerary:-We meet between 8.00 and 9.10am in Ilfracombe Harbour to check-in/issue dive equipment and then load onto the boat at 9.30am. The boat crossing to Lundy takes approximately 1 and a quarter hours depending on tides, wind and sea conditions. Dolphins and porpoise are regularly seen from the boat, playing in our Bow wave if we're lucky and it has been known to see the occasional whale or Sun Fish on this crossing! Once we arrive at the island we kit up and give a detailed dive brief. Then it's into the water for our first dive, maximum dive time is 1 hour. Relax with a hot drink during our 1 hour surface interval and enjoy watching the Seals swimming in the cove and the fantastic sea bird life, then it's back into the blue for more diving fun with the Seals! After the second dive we head back, looking out for more wildlife on our return journey to Ilfracombe Harbour.   Inclusions Accommodation - Comfort We can offer accommodation at Epchris House, our highly-rated guest house, which has facilities and bespoke services for divers and offers free cancellation for divers booking 1 night stays on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday nights if your dive trip is cancelled due to unsafe weather.  If you are planning on staying on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday or 2+ nights please note there is no free cancellation if your dive trip is cancelled due to unsafe weather, but there is lots to do in our local area including surfing, kayaking, coasteering, paddle-boarding and walking on the South West Coast Path and in nearby Exmoor National Park.  We respectfully ask you not to book 2+ night/Friday, Saturday, Sunday night stays at Epchris House unless you are happy to have a mini break in North Devon, even if your dive trip is unable to happen due to weather conditions.  There will be no accommodation refund under these circumstances.  Ilfracombe has many accommodation providers so it is nearly always possible to book a room at the last minute if you are worried about losing money and only wish to visit North Devon if you can dive.  For the best direct room rate please call Cath at Epchris House on 07833 020424.  Accommodation is not included in the ticket price.   What's Included 🧰 Equipment - Full equipment hire provided if required 📋 Other - Dive Guides   What you'll need 🧤 Warm Clothing - Even if it's a hot day, bring lots of extra layers and more than you think you need ☂️ Waterproofs - Waterproof and windproof jacket even if no rain forecast, there will be spray - a dry robe is ideal! A waterproof timepiece, so a watch or dive computer (this isn't required if you plan to dive with the guided group) 🍴 Food - There is no food available on the boat so please bring plenty to eat, you will be very hungry and you should eat a big breakfast, plus snacks on the way out and lunch in between dives. This will make a big difference to your body temperature and comfort whilst diving 🥤 Drink - Bring water and soft drinks. There is no drinking water available on the boat. We will serve hot drinks in between dives 📋 Other - Evidence of diving certification and date of last dive (make sure you have checked that the date of your last dive complies with our trip terms and conditions), suncream (please choose ocean friendly brands and don't apply to your face when diving), sun hat, towel, swimming things, rash vest, binoculars for bird spotting, money/Card for Pier car park (charges apply 08.00-18.00, £1.50 per hour)
